3. If you have chlorinated water, we recommend you use a Carbon/Sediment Pre-Filter. The residual chlorine in municipal or city water will destroy the membrane. if hardness is too high, we recommend you install water softener before Ro unit.

Bad replacement filters

This was my second set of replacement filters I purchased in one month. My tap water has a PPM of 112. I installed a set of Geek Pure filters I purchased from one of the big online retailers. PPM readings were unstable at best and never went below 80. I then decided to order another set of filters from the Geek Pure store thinking my first set was defective. It's been two weeks now with very little improvement. PPM numbers fluctuate 10 to 20 points with my best PPM reading of 45. My original Geek Pure filters got the PPM down to 6. I was happy with that, but now I have a heap of junk under my sink that takes up more room than it's worth. The manufactures Asian origin is obviously the problem.
