What tooIm beyond thrilled! What a diffrance soft water has done!

I installed the 3-stage aquarium RO system under my kitchen sink, and overall Ive had an excellent experience, but I do have one important piece of advice: dont use the valve/adapter that comes with it. The included valve leaked and was extremely frustrating to deal with. Save yourself the headache and go straight to Home Depot to purchase a Quick Connect RO Adapter with a valve, or buy the kit that includes the adapter. Its about the same price and comes with extra tubing and connectors. The upgraded adapter works perfectly and connects easily to the filter system under the sink. The filtered water comes out at a clean 10 ppm TDS, which is exactly what I wanted since I prefer not to remineralize. After the decor, substrate, driftwood, and a small amount of tap water, my tank now sits at 160 ppm soft to med water, down from my original Florida hardwater from tap water at 400 ppm and pH 8.5. I lowered the levels gradually with daily 25% water changes to avoid osmotic shock. Its extremely important to transition fish slowly, and remember that the beneficial bacteria also needs time to adjust. Now that my tank is stable at 160 ppm and around pH 7 (instead of PH 8.5), I maintain it by mixing a small amount of tap water with RO water. The stability has been incredible.Im currently using this system to maintain four tanks. The filters are just starting to wear out, and the water is now reading about 20 ppm, so its probably almost time to replace the disposable filters. Ive produced at least 100 gallons so far across all the tanks, which Im very happy with. The overall outcome has been outstanding. If I had known how much happier my fish and plants would be, and how much more stable and easier the tanks would be to maintain, I would have switched to RO water years ago. I no longer deal with hard water stains, the tanks stay much cleaner, and the water is crystal clear. As for the fishthis has been the biggest surprise. I could never successfully keep Blue Rams before; they always struggled in my hard water. After switching to softer water, I decided to try again. Now I have a healthy male and female, their colors are unbelievably vivid, like saltwater fish vivid and theyre thriving. Theyve even spawned, and the fry are free-swimming! I honestly couldnt believe it. Not only are they surviving, they are clearly thriving.I keep the temperature at 81F and use Fluval Plant & Shrimp Stratum as the substrate throughout the tank. My plants have never looked better, lush, green, and growing vigorously. I no longer experience plant melt, and everything in the tank just seems balanced and happy and clean.I also used to struggle badly with hair and breaded algae, it was a complete mess. Cleaning it was so frustrating that at times it almost made me question whether keeping a tank was even worth it. The thick, stringy hairy algae was very difficult to remove and seemed to come back no matter what I did all over the tank.Since switching to RO water, that problem has completely disappeared. The hair and breaded algae has not returned, and neither have the other stubborn types that were so hard to control. Now the only algae I see is a small amount of soft, manageable growth thats very easy to spot clean just with rubbing my finger over it.In fact, its so minimal that my pleco has no problem keeping up with it and happily graze it down. Maintenance is dramatically easier, and the tank stays looking clean and healthy. The difference has honestly been night and day.Im beyond thrilled with the results. This RO system has completely transformed my aquariums.

Good, affordable R/O System

Ive installed 4 or 5 R/O systems in places Ive lived to get bottled-water quality from the tap. I prefer to get rid of as much chlorine, lead, and fluoride as possible. Good clean taste - or lack of taste - is also important.I chose this unit to produce clean drinking water in my travel trailer as there really isnt room for a pressure tank like most R/O systems. The unit works well and at ~50 psi produces R/O filtered washer at a pretty high rate. Easily several gallons an hour. The unit is compact and I bundle it up and store it away after filling all of my jugs and bottles. Without this unit, Id be going through several 24 or 36 packs of half-liter plastic bottles a week. Thats just too much waste. I refill the better-quality bottles and save the plastic/planet.Two minor downsides that I noticed:Description says that unless you specify otherwise, youll receive a garden hose thread adapter. Thats not what was in the package. My kit came with a whole standard under sink hardware kit. Self-piercing valve, shut-off valve adapter for typical supply lines, and the clap/tap that fits your drain line for the waste water tubing. There was done other valve in there that I couldnt quite figure out. At any rate, if you want to hook this up to a hose bibb, youll need a few fittings.I also noticed that the tubing arrangement as shipped routes the water through a carbon filter -before- the R/O membrane. All of the other systems Ive installed touted the water through the carbon filter at the very last stage. Though this may be due to this system not having a tank, I would think its a bit of a waste to be using up the carbon filters life filtering water thats going to go down the drain. I may read-route the tubing to sent the water through the carbon filter last.At any rate, an efficient and affordable solution to the need for high-quality filtered water. You may just need to run to the local hardware store for a few stray bits and pieces.

Works, was tough to find adapter pieces to install it.

I got this because of the many high ratings, and advertised ease of use. I had purchased a distiller a while back, and the output was way too slow for our needs. He high cost of RO units had kept us from trying one, but then I found this little guy. It arrived nearly fully assembled - I just needed to put in the membrane filter part. I went to 3 plumbing supply stores and 2 hardware stores to find a valve that fit the tubing, and that also had a shut off. (Reviews had said not to trust the fittings). 2 of the plumbing supply stores looked at the pictured diverter valve and told me Ive never seen anything like that in my life. They also said there was no way to connect this unit to my sink. Finally, my local hardware store saved the day and took the time to help me. I just measured our water from the faucet and it was 503 ppm. The filter included on our refrigerator puts out water at 408 ppm. The RO filter setup is currently running, and flushing. After 10 minutes, I checked the water from the red and blue hoses out of curiosity. The red hose is supposed to be concentrated impurities, and the blue hose is supposed to be filtered water. My red hose is putting out water at 750 ppm, and the blue hose is reading 9. Yep, this filter is taking my water from over 500 ppm, and giving me water with a ppm in the single digits. Im impressed with the quality so far, for the cost. The only issue I can see is that the filters might get used up quickly, and they seem to be sold in packs, for a premium. As of now, 5 starts though. Works as advertised, no leaks.

Best RO system

This little powerhouse is a magnificent marvel of technology. For less than 60 dollars, this system can not be beat!Comes mostly assembled. All I had to do was insert the RO membrane into the cylinder and connect water input. This does NOT come with a garden hose adapter, so I purchased one separately that was listed in the "Frequently bought together" list.We have terrible well water that comes out RED sometimes from all the clay deposits. My EC meter measures 650ppms on our raw well water (500ppm scale). The water produced from the clean water line of this filter reads 0PPM! I have had this unit for a couple weeks now and it has produced over 200 gallons of pure, clean, great tasting water for me and my plants! If you are a gardener, this RO system is a MUST!If you are a clean water fanatic, this system is a MUST!Great tasting water! SO happy with this purchase! The replacement filters are only 37 dollars for the whole set, which is VERY affordable! A friend of mine has had this RO system for 2 years and has never even replaced his filters, and his still works great! It may not be the fastest RO system on the market but if price is an issue, BUY THIS UNIT!! I suggest buying a tank or 5 gallon water jugs to store the clean water in, as it takes about 5 minutes to get a full 16 oz glass of water. Also, does not require crazy high water pressure. I'd say our water pressure is no more than the average household water pressure and the system still performs just fine.I am telling ALL of my friends about this great filter system! I wish I had found this a long time ago! Thank you OSMOPUR for making a great, affordable RO system! Finally, EVERYONE can afford clean water!

Good

Works good I think there's better quality ones out there but it gets the PPM down to like 5 which is acceptable to me I'm using it to water my plants. They love it though! You definitely get your money's worth of this though if your needs aren't super sensitive like requiring the highest filtration possible this one works great for the price! I've been using it for over a year and it's still going strong!
