This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 90 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 80 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating.it is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 60 psi or less. 4. The rubber o-ring provides the water tight seal between the cap and the sump. it is important that the o-ring be properly SEATED IN THE GROOVE of a water leak could occur.

The Texas freeze caused our utility to over chlorinate our drinking water, which destroyed our water softener beads. I installed this housing with a large carbon filter to remove the chlorine before it reaches the water softener and then replaced the water softener beads.

Particulate water filter

I had installed this in my previous house and used it for about 5 years. This large type is much better than those little, cheap filters made from spools of string and with this 10" long filter model, you have the option of getting just a sediment filter or a cleansing charcoal filter. It now comes with a wrench which is quite handy when taking the housing off to change the filter.
