1. Please lubricate the o-ring with silicon grease and use wrench provided to prevent leakage. Protect filter housing from freezing.
2. This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 90 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 80 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating.it is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 50 psi or less.
3.The rubber o-ring provides the water tight seal between the cap and the sump. it is important that the o-ring be properly SEATED IN THE GROOVE of a water leak could occur.
I purchased 4 of these units and each one is good.
the unit is larger than it appears, but for good reason. easy install, GREAT water flow - almost zero restriction. We installed in front of a water softener - what a difference!
This unit replacing 2.5 x10 other mfg. unit which didn't seem to be catching much of 5 micron particles with 5 micron sediment filter(this is pre-filtering ahead of3 unit - 4.5 x 20 ) 1st one received had to be sent back,( broken pressure release valve) read other peoples troubles with leaking, used reducers to size down to existing 3/4 in. pipes, used 3 or 4 wraps of teflon tape and had no issues with leaks. using plumbers grease on seal is good idea, also really do suggest getting clear housing unit, much easier to monitor when to change filter.
I never write reviews but I had to write this one.I'm very satisfied. It's the right size and good quality!
Works great, easy to install
