Seems to tackle our hard water problem and our water tastes remarkably better than before!

I was very happy to see the Geekpure Whole House U-V 6 GPM Water Filter System offered for review as we have had issues with our water from day one since buying our house nearly 20 years ago. The Geekpure system was very easy to install after purchasing a couple of fittings to reduce the ?" inlet and outlets to reduce into ?" PEX piping. You will need a power source to operate the system and thankfully I have an electrical outlet near the system that was used to power previous water softeners.Everything you need to install the system is provided by Geekpure, including easy to read and understand instructions. I had to research if the filter body could be installed in a vertical arrangement and found nothing of note on that type of installation, so I went ahead and installed the filter body as recommended in the instructions. We've had at least three water softeners that we've used for many years, each requiring replacement for one reason or another, and I was on the verge of purchasing another water softener outright and resigned to once again going through the regimen of adding salt to the system on a regular basis. We were told by a water softener representative that our "state of the art" system was not quite enough to combat the effects of hard water in our region and the contaminants that are common on the high plains. In addition to being hard water, I joke that it's the driest water I've ever encountered to where your skin always feels dry and itchy from using it.A few weeks with the Geekpure Whole House U-V 6 GPM Water Filter System and things have seemed to change quite dramatically. We actually get more soap lathering action than before, something hard water doesn't do well, and after showers and baths, we don't feel like we've scrubbed with sandpaper. So this system for as compact as it is, really does a remarkable job! The water is actually drinkable once again with no strange after taste or odor present. The tradeoff I see from the Geekpure Whole House U-V 6 GPM Water Filter System is that is recommends using a bleach flush out every so often to keep the system clean. This is manageable and actually gives us peace of mind that any of the pipes in our house are staying relatively clean. It also requires periodic filter replacement which means in terms of total cost, it is probably about the same price as all the conditioner salt we'd be using otherwise over time. And it also means that I don't have to obtain and pay for 5 gallon water jugs for drinkable water. Our water is really that bad.In addition to the Geekpure Whole House U-V 6 GPM Water Filter System, I am going to be installing a spin down filter or two inline, 'before' it goes through the Geekpure system. This should help the longevity of the Geekpure system in the long run.I feel the price point of the Geekpure Whole House U-V 6 GPM Water Filter System is right there with a variety of other U-V filtration systems on the market today, and certainly less in cost than water softener rental or outright purchase. I should know in another six months just how well this whole system is working out, but for now so far, this is a great compact system that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to improve the quality of their drinkable and cleaning water supply.

Takes a load off my mind

Being in a 'boil water before use' flood zone after Helene, this took a load off my worries.

Works great! No leaks.

The instructions are a little confusing, but once you figure it out, it works well. I created a portable UV light system to stop bacteria growth when I load well water into the boat tanks, as there is no chlorine. I like having the extra bulbs and tubes should something break as we travel to different places. The green light on the control module means I can assume it's working well (can't see the bulb nor light, so otherwise it would be only trust). I've used this only for an hour or two, 2 250 gallon fills, but so far so good.

Lube End Seals

This uv unit works well. Had water tested. Be very careful installing. Instructions don't state but, lube end seals well. I still would buy again.

The perfect addition to my whole-house RO.

I have been piecing together a whole-house RO system to replace 3 currently functioning smaller units in my house. In no uncertain terms, I want EVERY FAUCET in my house to have clean, clear water that I'm not afraid of getting cancer from.My specs will be 1000 GPD (2x 500 GPD membranes in parallel), with 2x 10x4.5" filters running particulate filtration duty (50 micron and 5 micron), followed by 2x 10x4.5" activated carbon filters. Final polish filter after the tank will be handled by a 20x4.5" activated carbon filter. Planned system pressure is 70 psi. This UV filter will be mounted after the RO membranes on their way to the pressure tank. The size is perfect for what I need.I included a photo to show the size difference between the UV sterilizer that I have hooked up to my APEC system and this Geekpure unit. It's easily DOUBLE the size, with much larger fittings. Water flow through this should be fantastic. The build quality of this is off the charts...this is some really fine stainless steel. If you're building yourself a whole-house RO, chances are you're considering adding a UV sterilizer. I 100% recommend that, killing the bacteria that makes it through the system before they reach your tanks is a good thing. This is a great kit to do that with. 5 stars.
